Concept
Mission: To Enliven | To Motivate | To Heal
Integrity of Self MovementArts™ is a system of movement
education designed to encourage awareness, appreciation, and utilization of the body as a movement instrument. In many cases it is a re-education on how we move, which enables us to retrain our bodies after years of poor movement habits.
It examines the functionality of the human anatomy by adhering to the integrity of the skeletal and muscular structure of the body. Aid in understanding the motivation and initiation of your movements.
Integrity of Self MovementArts™ implements efficient breathing, employs imagery, explores energy dynamics, establishes balance, and incorporates elements of the theatre arts.
Throughout the class the language for understanding, observing, analyzing and notating movement (Labanotation and Laban/ Bartenieff Movement Analysis) is used. Understanding the language of movement through the study of Labanotation allows you to analyze and record your own movement style and flow. You then move your body, with a full understanding of HOW you are moving in your space and time.
Integrity of Self MovementArts™ enables you to avoid injuries, be more enlivened and more confident. |
